’Fire and fury’, oh, I like that. It’s a little incorrect though, isn’t it? I like your species, see. Sure you uselessly just feel whatever comes to mind like a small sailboat prey to the wind, but you’re so delightfully predispositioned towards rage it works out for me easy enough.
So I’ll tell you why no artillery: it makes things just too easy for you. I appreciate the straightforward efficiency of murder it gives but you barely have to feel any annoyance at all to take a life with one. So that’s why no artillery. I want you to use your hands and put your back into it and get nice and furious. It gives me much more to work with.
There’s nothing here yet that can’t be killed with what you currently have available. If you need something bigger, I’ll consider changing my mind. You’ve all been doing fairly well without for now.
I suppose it's true enough, I imagine a lot of folks here are doing quite well at surviving without a rifle or pistol to make their lives easier.
But I think you're giving many of them too much credit. What they're feeling when they have to confront monsters with nothing more than a sword or spear isn't so much rage as it is fear. That kind of powerlessness, especially if they've never seen combat, isn't going to make them angry. Then again, I suppose as long as you get along with your brotherly deity, that's fine too, isn't it?
Rarely will you happen upon the monsters by accident, so I'd hope you wouldn't go looking for trouble then be afraid when you find it. Also it never is just the small arms and artillery, is it? Because those need bullets and you can only use each of those once. A constant need of resupply, resupply, resupply. If you take good care of your spear it will last you much longer and kill many more things before you need to ask for help again. I suggest you use the quiet time wisely to practice with what I've already provided.
...Unless it's something other than monsters that you're hunting?
Why, at this rate I might be convinced that you're gods and goddesses after all. Just when I was planning to ask if it mattered what kind of bodies get left on your altar, too. You see, I'd like to keep my options open.
Of course not. I was going to say something about humans, but it's becoming clear that not everyone in the city is quite human. But I imagine something close enough would do?
To be perfectly honest I can't really tell the difference between most of you, species-wise. Some claim human, others claim otherwise, and you all get so prickly when I try 'barely sentient bipedal creatures' as a catch all.
